There may come a time in your life, either early or late, that you get involved with a non-profit organization or charity. It may be that you will participate as a donor, a founder, an executive, a board member or other stakeholder. Non-profits are always formed with the intent of not making profits and for this reason, they are governed by a specific set of rules, including surrounding their revenues, expenses and taxation. However, this does not mean that they cannot have revenues and raise funds at all! Such revenues must always be redirected to the main intent of the non-profit or charity and serve that purpose.
